Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" may be the hit song of this summer, and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" certainly topped last year's summer season. But what was the song of the summer the year you graduated high school, or got married, or moved to a new town, or met the love of your life?

Madonna (1986), Sir Mix-A-Lot (1992), Carly Rae Jepse (2012) and Beyonce (2003) have all had top summer songs.
If you don't remember, you can find out via a neat feature from Billboard.com which lists the top 10 summer songs from the years 1985-2012. (We wish it went back further, so we could check songs from our birth years and childhood.)
Did you graduate high school in 1985? Perhaps you and your classmates were singing "Shout" by Tears for Fears at graduation parties.
Meet the love of your life in 1990? Maybe she was your "Vision of Love," as sung by Mariah Carey.
Did you get married in 1993? Like UB40, you just "Can't Help Falling in Love."
Yes, not all of the songs are winners. (1996's "Macarena" was played at many weddings, but have you heard it lately?) But summer songs, like summer romances, are of the moment, not always built to last. Peruse the list and don't be surprised if the gentle scent of Coppertone and chloriney tang of the pool in July come wafting in your window as you reminisce.
