Readers? Best Apps for College Grads

Last week, we asked readers to tell us what apps college graduates had to have. Many apps fell into the ?Hall of Fame? category ? LinkedIn Facebook , Twitter. But there were some unique names in the mix, and as usual the discussion went from best apps for college grads to a free-for-all on favorite apps. Here is a selection of tweets, with some extra information on individual apps below.

Scanning a barcode brings up detailed information and allow you to select alternatives and compare products.?The app has information on more than 200,000 items.

AroundMeApp
Free. iOS 6 and Android

AroundMe is a geolocated entertainment app that uses augmented reality to add a layer of information to your surroundings. It also allows you to book reservations from within the app, and it works with OpenTable and Booking.com.?

HeronBiz
Free. iOS

HereonBiz, like a mashup of LinkedIn and Foursquare, sends tailored alerts when people in your network are near. It?s aimed at people who travel for work and want to make potential connections in different cities. Selected ?influencers? can mention cities that they will be in, and app users can apply to meet with that person.
