DESOTO - Any chance of rain won't stop the Friday football faithful from enjoying a great game. Plus, one of the biggest match-ups for high school football is happening Saturday in North Texas. It's a huge match-up: Euless Trinity verses DeSoto (#3 verses #4 in the state respectively).

On Friday, WFAA?s Wyatt Goolsby took our mobile live camera inside the DeSoto Eagles High School gym where students, faculty, and staff threw a morning pep rally.

News 8 spoke with a variety of staff from the High School and the DeSoto school district. They highlighted the recent Athletic achievements of the football team being ranked #17 in the nation, plus the track teams making history by being the first 5A high school to win both boys and girls state track titles last spring.
?
Dr. David Harris, the superintendent, also explained how DeSoto ISD is working hard to be even more engaged in the local community. ?Go Green Fridays? is a new initiative almost ready to launch, for example, where DeSoto fans wearing green or Eagle spirit wear can receive discounts around town on Fridays from 20% off at lunch to free drinks or discounted services or merchandise at certain stores and restaurants.

The final pre-district battle this Saturday, September 15 featuring DeSoto against Euless Trinity is the final game of the Lone Star Classic at Kincaide Stadium. The 7:30 p.m. game is the last of a triple header that day that includes Ozen (Beaumont) vs. Stephenville and Booker T. Washington (Miami) vs. Cedar Hill.
