Johnson County Fair Kicks Off Sunday in Buffalo
The 2011 Johnson County Fair will begin its week-long run Sunday, July 31 and wrap up Sunday, August 7.
Sunday, the dog show will begin at 8am, and open class exhibits will be accepted from 1 to 7pm. FFA exhibits are due at 4pm.
Monday is traditionally the day for the horse shows, along with cats and ?pocket pets.?
Tuesday is sheep day, culminating in the sheep lead beginning at 7pm. The exhibit hall grand opening and static awards will be presented as well.
Wednesday is for swine, goats, poultry and rabbit shows.
Thursday the beef shows will begin and team penning and all county roping will start the rodeo events.
Friday will feature the youth rodeo, pie and talent contests, stick-horse race and the FFA round robin. Rodeo slack events will begin as well.
Saturday the Fair and Rodeo Parade will happen on Main Street beginning at 10am. The rodeo will continue at 1pm and the day will cap with the Junior Livestock Sale at 7pm.
Sunday the week will wrap up with the final rodeo events beginnign at 1pm.
